Pre-Appointment Preparation

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR TATTOO APPOINTMENT

In order for House of Beauty and Cosmetic Tattooing to be able to tattoo and to get best results, your skin needs to be in good condition.

Please avoid any of the following in the lead up your appointment:

  • Facial treatments that involve chemicals peels, microdermabrasion, skin needling or anything that intensely removes layers of skin or is invasive. When your skin undergoes these treatments there is a healing period afterwards as it rejuvenates itself, House of Beauty and Cosmetic Tattooing will only tattoo on perfectly healed skin so please avoid the above procedures in the 30 days prior your appointment.
  • Active Skin Products – please ensure that you have stopped using Retinol or Vitamin A products on and around the brow area for at least 30 days prior your appointment.
  • Sun exposure and tanning products must be avoided on the face / brow area for 30 days prior to treatment.
  • Botox must be performed either a full 2 weeks before or after your Cosmetic Tattooing procedure.
  • Drug Interactions – if you are using ROACCUTANE you must be off this before you are able to have an eyebrow procedure. If using photo sensitising antibiotics, e.g. Doxycycline, high doses of anti-inflammatory medicine or topical medical creams, you cannot undergo Cosmetic Tattooing until 6 months after you have ceased usage of these drugs. Some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs interact with the tattooing adversely. Please inform Renata if you are using such medications.
  • DO NOT take pain relief prior your appointment, they can cause excessive bleeding which effects retention.
  • AVOID ALCOHOL AND COFFEE the day before and the day of your appointment.
  • DO NOT exercise on the day of your appointment.
  • Please do not plan any social events, holidays or play sports as you have to avoid make up, sweating and swimming, for at least 7 days following your procedure.

Please Note:

  • Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the room due to Work Health and Safety Regulations.
  • We do not allow friends or family in the room during the treatment as this may cause distractions for the technician.
  • If you are pregnant, we cannot perform this procedure.
  • If you are breastfeeding, you need to be able to pump and dump two feeds straight after the treatment due to anaesthetics in the milk.

Please inform Renata prior your appointment if:

  • You have had your eyebrows tattooed before.
  • You have any seriously allergies.
  • You have any keloid scarring in the area.
  • You are taking medication of any kind.

Remember Cosmetic Tattooing involves 2 treatments, so please make sure you follow House of Beauty and Cosmetic Tattooing’s Aftercare Instructions to get the best results.

After Care Information

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT

The aftercare of your cosmetic tattoo is very important for the final result. If for any reason you are unable to follow the preparation steps or the following after care steps, House of Beauty and Cosmetic Tattooing cannot guarantee the best results for your Brows. Please make sure you read through this after care sheet to ensure you get the best results for your brows.

What to expect after your Cosmetic Tattoo appointment?

Your eyebrows will be healing for at least six weeks. The first two weeks are the most critical healing period. Straight after your appointment your brows will be bold and dark, a bit of swelling, redness and weeping. The redness and swelling will go away after 24-48 hours. Your tattoo will eventually flake and scab and the colour will start to look a LOT lighter. Please DO NOT PANIC as this is just a result of the damaged and dead skin cells being pushed out, the colour will come back after 10-14 days.

  1. In the first few hours after your treatment wipe your brows every 20 to 30 minutes.
  2. Apply Medicone Gel 2 x a day on dry eyebrows for 7 days.
  3. Please remember it takes 5 to 6 weeks for your brows to heal, even if they look healed do not stop your aftercare steps.

Very important during the first 2 weeks:

  • Please DO NOT DO anything to cause excessive sweating, this will push the pigment out in your tattoo.
  • DO NOT GET your brows wet, no swimming, facial cleansers or make up removers on the area.
  • DO NOT GET your brows expose to the sun. Wear sunglasses and hats when outdoors. Once your brows are healed always apply sunscreen when exposed to the sun.
  • DO NOT USE any brows products, make up can be worn but avoid the tattooed area.
  • Your tattoo may become very itchy as they heal (avoid scratching).

Remember:

Cosmetic Tattooing is a 2-stage process, the adjustment session will correct shape, thickness, gaps, colour, depth, length, fullness and balance.

Depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you take care of your tattoo, the pigment can last anywhere from six to twenty-four months. After 6 months as the tattoo fades the colour can look different due to the tone and colour of your skin. Therefore, we recommend booking an annual colour boost to refresh the colour each year. Apply sunscreen on the area every day (sun and saltwater are your biggest concern).

Healing cream can be purchased at House of Beauty and Cosmetic Tattooing for $20.

Please give Renata a call on 022 415 8274 if you have any concerns.
